Privacy policy

Your content stays under your devices' control.

This policy explains how LoopLink LAN handles information and system permissions while providing local file transfer, Quick Text, and browser link sharing.

The short version

Device transfer and Quick Text connect devices directly on the local network. Transfer contents are not uploaded to a LoopLink LAN cloud server. Link sharing temporarily serves an HTTP download from your device and should only be used on a trusted local network.

01

Scope

This policy applies to the LoopLink LAN clients for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows, as well as this official website. Permission names can differ by platform, but the purpose and boundaries of information processing remain consistent.

02

Information we process

Content you choose to send

This includes files, folders, and Quick Text that you actively select or enter. LoopLink LAN reads this content only to complete the transfer you start. Files and folders sent through Device Transfer require recipient approval before transfer begins. Received Quick Text is automatically copied to the clipboard without a confirmation for each message. Link Sharing downloads are started in a browser by a device that has the complete link and can reach the sharing device.

Device and local-network information

To find nearby devices and connect them, LoopLink LAN processes device display names, cryptographic device identifiers, public keys, platform types, local-network addresses, connection status, and temporary session details on the local network. A device name is not used as identity or authorization.

File metadata

This includes file names, sizes, optional media types, folder manifests, transfer progress, and integrity-check results. It is used to show the confirmation screen, perform the transfer, and verify the result.

Information stored on this device

Transfer history, device names, trusted-device details, device groups, default save locations, and necessary settings remain on the current device. History can include file names, devices, time, direction, and results. LoopLink LAN does not save the body of Quick Text messages.

App usage and diagnostics

To understand feature usage and improve stability, the Android, iOS, and macOS clients use Google Firebase Analytics for automatically collected app events, app-instance information, and related device and app information. Release builds use Firebase Crashlytics to process crash traces, timestamps, app versions, operating-system and device-model details, installation identifiers, and necessary diagnostics. We do not place transferred file contents or Quick Text contents into these services.

03

Boundaries of each transfer mode

↔

Device transfer and Quick Text

Content is sent directly to the receiving device on the local network over an authenticated, encrypted connection, without a LoopLink LAN cloud relay.

HTTP

Browser link sharing

Your device temporarily provides an unencrypted HTTP download. Any device that can reach the link on the accessible network may attempt a download. Use it only on trusted local networks and stop sharing promptly.

04

How system permissions are used

  • Local network and nearby devicesDiscover devices on the same local network and create send, receive, and temporary download connections.
  • Files and foldersAccess only the sending content and save locations you select through the system picker.
  • Photo library write accessUsed only when you choose to save a received photo or video to the photo library.
  • ClipboardWrite received Quick Text to the clipboard. The operating system may display a clipboard-access notice.
05

Local storage, retention, and deletion

LoopLink LAN does not create cloud copies of transferred content. Received files are stored in a system location you choose or authorize, and you delete them with the system file manager. You can delete custom device groups and remove group members in the app; the default group cannot be deleted. Transfer history supports viewing, search, and filters, but currently has no delete action. Clearing app data or uninstalling usually removes settings and local records from the app sandbox, but does not automatically delete received files saved elsewhere.

Private keys remain within the secure storage boundary provided by the platform. They do not enter LoopLink LAN's Dart business layer, transfer logs, or website.

06

Third-party services and disclosures

The Android, iOS, and macOS clients use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for basic usage measurement, crash diagnosis, and app-stability improvements. Related information is sent to Google and handled under its service terms and privacy safeguards. LoopLink LAN currently includes no advertising SDK, does not sell transferred content, and does not use transferred content to build advertising profiles.

07

When you visit the website

The app does not upload transfer contents, and website access is a separate activity. To serve pages, maintain security, and diagnose faults, the hosting service may process access time, IP address, browser type, request path, and technical logs. This website currently uses no advertising trackers and requires no account.

08

Minors, changes, and applicable law

LoopLink LAN is a general-purpose file transfer tool and is not directed specifically at minors. We may update this policy for product, platform-rule, or legal changes and will show the new version date here. Material changes may receive additional notice where reasonable.
